Most of us wouldn’t immediately think of Snow Valley Ski Hill as a wedding venue, but their lodge is perfect for a wedding reception with a log cabin feel. The food is excellent as well.

Run down farm - by Picture That Photography
We loved photographing at this run down farm location earlier this summer. The new relationship against a backdrop that was old and falling apart added to the beauty of our photographs of Audrey and Kent during their Edmonton session.

Keeping Dry and Getting a Great Shot in the Rain - photo by Night and Day Photography
If you are looking for a photo location in Stony Plain or near Spruce Grove, the Rotary Park in Stony Plain is a great place! It has quite a bit there for photos. There is a gazebo, bridge, paths, trees, great green space, a pond, this building AND a railway track complete with a couple cars. It’s awesome! We were really impressed with the variety when we shot this wedding in Spruce Grove last year. It’s worth a look if you are planning a wedding in the area.

Fort Edmonton Park is an amazing venue for a wedding. There are so many different places that you can have a ceremony or reception, including the beautiful Egge’s Barn, which is perfect for a smaller reception.

At the old Saloon - image by Trident Photography
Fort Edmonton provides a really great location for shooting formals. There are so many places to go to make really great images. The old buildings, the carousel, and the train to name but a few. I am looking forward to the next shoot there.

On The Farm - by Picture That Photography
One of our favorite places to photograph is at a farm! The rustic backdrops are such a beautiful contrast to a couple dressed up to the nines! This is one of our favorite photographs from Dawn and Joel’s wedding.

Greeting the Bridegroom in the lobby of the Marriott - photo by Night and Day Photography
Few places can boast the facility that the Marriott at the River Cree Resort and Casino can. This place is new, modern, beautiful and can accommodate anything you need. You can have an open fire, you can take over the lobby, the parking lot, and have one great party for your wedding. This photo was taken as the brides family waited to greet the grooms family. It was an awesome party, the food was fantastic, the ceremony room was quickly turned over into a part of the banquet hall while the guests had cocktails in the foyer. The Marriott really does and outstanding job!

Do you have a room booked at the Hotel where your reception is? With a creative, professional Edmonton wedding photographer, any hotel room can become a ’set’ for portraits! Lisa had candles and a fireplace in her suite at the Rimrock Hotel in Banff, and it worked beautifully!

Staris at Selkirk Hotel - image by Trident Photography
Edmonton has many fabulous venues for hosting weddings. One of which is the Selkirk Hotel, located in Fort Edmonton Park. The hotel is an excellent backdrop for formals, and the park provides many opportunities for photography as well.

We were very impressed to see Esther & Nathan go around to each and every one of their guests tables at their Sutton Place reception. They did a toast with everyone, and made each guest feel so welcome.

Dennis and Grace at the Basilica by Buffy Goodman Photography
The Basilica downtown is one of the most beautiful and sought-after church venues in Edmonton… and there’s good reason. Amazing light, great architecture, and the cavernous amounts of space create incredible atmosphere for your ceremony. And hockey fans take note – Wayne Gretzky was married here!
This is the “classic shot” at the Basilica, taken from the upper balcony – one of those wedding must-haves.

Classic Church Photo by Night and Day Photography
I love the classic black and white wedding photos with the couple in front of an old stone church that you see in family albums from years past. That’s why I’m always delighted when brides and grooms pick these great old churches to get married in. Usually, they have also picked a venue to take photos at – but – taking just a couple of minutes to take a photo in front of the church always turns out awesome!
This church is the beautiful St. Joachim church in central Edmonton. I’ve always wanted to shoot a wedding here and I was NOT disappointed at all. Not only is the outside fantastic, the priest was fun, the stained glass was awesome, it had lots of parking, and the roof… the roof is spectacular from the inside. I totally recommend it! It’s a great Edmonton Venue for a ceremony – particularly if your looking for a catholic wedding. Just don’t miss out on a photo outside the church before you take off after the ceremony.
