Cookie Centerpiece - Photo by Rob & Lauren
Wanted to share this great centerpiece idea our awesome bride and groom had! Cookie jars with homemade ginger cookies!!! They were absolutely delicious! They even had little jars of dip for the cookies. I gotta say, these are the coolest (and most enjoyable) centerpieces we’ve ever seen.

Some of the most amazing first dances we have seen were beautifully choreographed and rehearsed – don’t be afraid to make a performance out of your first dance! You might surprise yourself with what an incredible dancer you can be.

Banff Wedding Photograph by Trident Photography
Planning a destination wedding is not as complicated as going to Mexico. The National Parks have stunning views and beautiful hotels. Jasper and Banff are not too far away either.

Ride of Your Life - by Picture That Photography
We are big kids and LOVE rides, so we were so excited to photograph Ania & Jon on some rides this summer! This idea for a photo op would definitely break down the tension during a wedding day, and provide some unique images!

If you’re having trouble coming up with ideas for entertaining wedding games, look no further! I recently witnessed the best game I’ve ever seen in over 10 years of wedding shooting.

Awesome Wedding Game - Night and Day Photography
What you do is you select your favourite friends to embarrass, and line them up split into a girls’ line and boys’ line. Then it’s a race between the girls and guys. What they have to do is pass a card from the first person to the last, and whichever line can do it first wins. The catch? You can only pass the card by touching your lips to ONE side of the card. It makes for the very best in blackmail photos. The only better way to embarrass your friends is to make them all drop their pants while they’re passing cards. But it’s a good enough game you don’t even need to do that!
Wow, ALL the guests, of ALL ages had some serious laughs from this one! Try it!

I’m sure Jessica’s Mom wasn’t anticipating her wrist corsage getting caught in the veil, but these are the sweet moments that you’ll remember from your wedding day.. even if they weren’t exactly in your plan!

The team at Avanti Salon & Spa was incredible to help get Stephanie ready. We all had champagne and juice, and the girls there were so attentive taking care of everyone. It’s a beautiful space, with inspired and artistic stylists.

Awesome screenprinted invitations by fortheavy.com
If you’ve got wedding invites that really reflect who you are, make sure your photographer gets a shot of one – they’re part of the memories too! Jess and Steve, the two lovebirds, got married in their backyard garden, filled with lovely greenery, and these cute little invites truly reflected the theme of their small family wedding. More photos from their awesome day are here.

Going Somewhere Scenic - by Picture That Photography
On your wedding day you may not have the time to drive to your favorite spot for photographs. That is why we recommend booking a “Day After Session”. For this session you wear your wedding clothes again. You can do your hair and makeup exactly the same, or let your hair down and have a more relaxed look. Unlike a Trash the Dress session, this is not about getting your clothing wet or dirty, just adding to the formals section of your wedding day with another awesome location.

No need to be shy on your wedding day: you ARE the star! So when it comes to your photo session that day, let the super model inside you, loose! Really hamming it up with your expressions lead to gorgeous magazine worthy portraits, and those moments are usually followed by great laughter, leading to some wonderful genuine and candid photos too.

Weddings are classy, sophisticated, elegant affairs. But there’s no reason you can’t add a little zing to your wedding. Stephanie and David wanted to add a piece of flair to their Best Man’s outfit with this fun “BM” pin. Na-na-na-na Na-na-na-na BEST MAN!

Tears of Joy - Photograph by CU Photography
Guys, it’s totally okay to cry as you see the woman you’re about to marry walking down the aisle. It’s an emotional day, and you should show it!
If you’re really lucky, you’ll be wearing a pair of wicked Chuck Taylor’s like this groom, and nobody will notice your tears.

This is a fun and usually funny game for the bride and groom to play on their wedding day. At the reception, the bride and groom sit back to back with one of their own shoes, and one of the other persons shoes. Then the MC asks them questions like “who is going to be in charge of X” and they hold up one of the shoes. I have seen this at a few weddings and it is a real hit with the guests.
