"To the Library!" - by Picture That Photography
At Jenn and Jason’s wedding we decided to do some photographs in a library! Jenn is a teacher, and the place was a great backdrop for a few photographs because of this. Jenn loved this photograph the most because the place we took the image in held a special meaning to her. We definitely recommend you choose a place that has meaning to you. No matter where the place is, your Edmonton wedding photographer should be able to incorporate it in a few photographs!

Simple is Beautiful - by Picture That Photography
We loved this plain (almost one-color) backdrop we found for Jocelyn and Joshua’s wedding last year! Sometimes something neutral or colorless is an awesome backdrop! It really brings the viewer’s attention right into the couple and makes them pop!

YMCA - by Picture That Photography
A lot of couples hire a photographer to photograph until the end of the first few dances only. We recommend having your photographer stay a little longer. Some of our most fun dance shots have been an hour or so into the dance when a large group hits the floor!

Keeping Dry and Getting a Great Shot in the Rain - photo by Night and Day Photography
If you are looking for a photo location in Stony Plain or near Spruce Grove, the Rotary Park in Stony Plain is a great place! It has quite a bit there for photos. There is a gazebo, bridge, paths, trees, great green space, a pond, this building AND a railway track complete with a couple cars. It’s awesome! We were really impressed with the variety when we shot this wedding in Spruce Grove last year. It’s worth a look if you are planning a wedding in the area.

For Aba and Nana’s wedding, Aba’s father came all the way from Africa to be a part of her wedding day. That was very special, and him walking her down the aisle was a very important moment.

Hitch Hiking to the Reception - photo by Night and Day Photography
This wedding was such a riot, the bride and groom had so much fun throughout the day and it carried over into the photos. From “Top Model fun” shots, to goofy fun, to high fashion style, to intimate photos – they had it all. This is just one of the fun photos they did on their wedding day. It rained just before the reception, but the rest of the day had been so beautiful, it didn’t stop the fun. Click on the photo if you want to see more.

The Groom Getting Ready - by Picture That Photography
If your budget allows, hiring two photographers is an awesome idea. Most companies will have more than one photographer, and packages including coverage by two photographers. The parts that usually don’t get seen in a wedding (the groom getting ready, a lot of guest photographs, and some awesome creative angles on the ceremony) will be captured with two photographers. Usually two photographers results in more photographs, and most importantly two perspectives on the same happenings.

Wedding photos at Ram River Falls Kananaskis
Why not hang out at one of your favourite places on your wedding day and have your photos done there? That’s what this bride and groom did. Their wedding took place earlier in the day, reception was actually a late lunch which was amazing and hosted at their favourite restaurant. That allowed them to spend the rest of the day, just the two of them taking photos in their favourite park: Ram River Falls in Kanananskis, and they had the evening to them selves. It was awesome and no one else will have photos like they do!

Getting Ready for the Big Day! - photo by Night and Day Photo
Ah April, spring time. Seasons of tulips, daffodils, birdies, and blossoms, right? Well, if you are planning a wedding in Edmonton, you had better be ready for it to be perfect spring, or hard core winter. It seems at least one wedding in April a year will be snowed out. Case in point, the storm yesterday!
This photo is from a fabulous April wedding, filled with fun, laughs and good times. It just also happened to include snow, slush, and wet puddles hidden under snow. So I guess what I’m trying to say is April weddings can be sun or snow… be prepared. Pack umbrellas, and you might want to wear boots under that dress for getting around between sites… OR have your groom wear boots and use it as an excuse to have him carry you everywhere! ( : Either way you go, be sure to have lots of fun.
